What is Lille Score?
The Lille score, developed by Louvet et al. in 2007, predicts response to corticosteroid therapy in severe alcoholic hepatitis using a single calculation at day 7. A score below 0.45 indicates good response and predicts survival benefit from continued steroids. A score ≥ 0.45 indicates poor response and prompts consideration of treatment cessation, where prolonged steroids would mainly add infection risk without survival benefit.
How is it calculated?
The model uses age, albumin, day-0 and day-7 bilirubin, creatinine and prothrombin time. The output is a logistic-regression probability bounded between 0 and 1.
